North Florida School of Special Education believes that we are responsible for meeting our professional commitments to our students, parents, community partners, and donors. We believe that by working together as a committed team, we can maximize our impact on students and families.
Parents and families are important to the success of NFSSE's educational, vocational, social skills and therapeutic programs. We welcome and encourage active involvement in your student's school experience at North Florida School of Special Education. Parents are regularly informed of the status of their student’s progress and made aware of any modifications to their student’s individualized programs. It is our sincere intent to offer unsurpassed programs for children and young adults with developmental disabilities. We pride ourselves in offering students the best opportunities by hiring a stellar staff of teachers and administrators experienced in working with children with special needs. Classroom teachers and teaching assistants are required to have either Special Education degrees and/or extensive experience working with students with developmental disabilities. Individualized goals are set forth for each student and those objectives are accessed throughout the school year in order to provide the most positive, nurturing environment available in Jacksonville.
