October 2023 Students of the Month

Each of our award winners were selected for “opening doors of kindness, opportunities, acceptance and possibilities!”

 

 

 

 

 

Elementary 1: Elkenzo D.
Kenzo has a sweet a smile on his face as he shows kindness and helpfulness to everyone around him! He helps clean up after every activity and helps his friends stay hydrated by passing out water bottles

Elementary 2: Myra M.
Myra is growing every day! She shares expressive language to swing on the playground with friends, and to call to Izzy the horse. Myra’s love of all the barn animals draws out her kindness and inspires her to open doors to all possibilities!

Elementary 3: Richard D.
Richard has blossomed a lot since the beginning of the school year. He is really bonding with his friends in class and happily arriving to school to greet his peers. He has learned our class rules and enjoys leading his peers in reciting them

Elementary 4: Myah B.
Myah is new to NFSSE and arrives wearing her contagious smile and basket full of sunshine attitude every morning! She is always kind and makes friends easily. She always tries her best and loves to neatly color while singing cheery songs!

 

 

Intermediate 1: Savie P.

Intermediate 2: Malachi E.
Malachi has shown a significant amount of improvement this month. He has been a great friend, a helpful student, and has stepped out of his shell. Job well done this month Malachi!”

Intermediate 3: Bodhi P.
Bodhi is the newest family member of Intermediate 3. He has jumped right and hasn’t missed a beat. Bodhi has made so many friends and memories during his time here at NFSSE. He brings an incredible amount of kindness and acceptance into our classroom. He is a humble and fierce competitor but does so by making sure no one is left behind. Bodhi is the first to lend a helping hand, a smile, or a laugh to help brighten the day of those around him. He embodies this year’s theme of opening doors. We are blessed to have a friend like Bodhi

Intermediate 4: Cameron T.
Cameron is such a great student and friend to his classmates. He is always willing to help whenever it is needed. He has such a positive attitude and always has a smile on his face! We love having Cameron in class!

 

Secondary 1: Carter S.
Carter has been very helpful in the classroom this month. He has shown a lot of grace and kindness towards his peers. Carter has also exhibited many leadership qualities among his peers. Congrats, Carter! We are so proud of you

Secondary 2: Michael A.
Michael is consistently a great role model for others. He is always well prepared for class and flexible when plans change. When Michael has a question or a problem, he speaks up for himself in a way that’s kind, considerate, and respectful. We are so proud of him!!

Secondary 3: Tayler R.
Tayler makes it a point to do her best in everything she does. She also makes a point of congratulating her friends and even her teachers when they have a big or small win. She is constantly working on improving and growing in all ways. And when you are around her, a smile, laugh or compliment is never far away.

Secondary 4: Lee A.
Lee is a very thoughtful and kind young man. He is always willing to lend a helping hand or offer an encouraging comment to his peers. He works hard and gives his best. Lee, you’re an awesome student! Every day, you put a smile on our faces with your positive attitude. Keep up the good work! Congratulations on Student of the Month!

Secondary 5: Lincoln R.
Lincoln always comes to class prepared to learn. He also demonstrates kindness to all his friends by being a partner in group projects and offering encouragement to others. Lincoln is positive and a role model to his peers! We love having Lincoln in our class.

Secondary 6: Oliver D.
Oliver has been selected as student of the month because of his positive attitude and kindness to others. You can always count on Oliver for some advice or words of wisdom! Oliver is a Junior Board member, a proud member of Junior Civitan, and you can occasionally see him showing off his school spirit as Iggy the Eagle! Oliver, we are so proud of you for everything you have accomplished so far, and will continue to accomplish the rest of this school year and beyond!

Secondary Vocational 1: Rebekah M.
Rebekah has is a hard working and very caring young lady. She enjoys sharing with her classmates and helping her teachers. Rebekah is a natural leader who sets a good example for her peers. She also tackles challenging tasks, such as writing her name in cursive, with grace.

Secondary Vocational 2: Abby M.

Transition: Trey B.
Trey has done an excellent job at self-advocating and self-managing. He continues to make goals for himself and take the necessary steps to achieve them. The Transition team is lucky to have you, Trey!

 

 

Rider of the Month: Tyce C.
We are so proud of Tyce for earning Rider of the Month! He works hard and is an excellent listener! He is kind and accepting of himself, his friends and the animals down at the barn!

PAES Lab: Kannon R.
Kannon demonstrates excellent employability skills every day. With each job task he is presented with he always shows great dedication and work ethic. Way to go, Kannon!

Berry Good Farms Café Barista of the Month: Bob G.
Bob’s newfound Barista skills and attention to detail in following drink recipes and then graciously and politely handing them out to staff and students is the excellence we strive for each day in the cafe! Great job, Bob!

Postgraduate Employee: Cierra P.
Cierra is new to the farm this year and has excelled on every level. She comes to work every week prepared with all the supplies she needs, and she is a happy, hard-working postgrad. Cierra is friendly and helpful and always has a smile on her face. We love having Cierra at Berry Good Farms!!

 

NFSSE Employees of the Month (staff members):

Jackie Williams
Jackie rises to the occasion whenever needed. Jackie’s calm demeanor and showing up each day make her a key player in offering kindness and opportunity for her students in Elem1. Jackie has stepped up when needed no matter what is asked of her. She has taken every obstacle with great poise and has her students’ best interest at heart. She is kind to coworkers and always checks up on others. 

Hannah Alexander
Hannah embodies our theme this year. She is full of kindness, love, acceptance, and grace. She is calm and patient. She is a great friend, coworker, and person to have in your corner. She takes feedback and thrives off of it. She is quick to see and call out the good in those around her. We are lucky to have a friend and role model like Hannah. 

Brittany Selmon
Brittany holds a grace and kindness that shines above and beyond. She has a hard job but makes it look easy. Her strength and dedication are amazing to witnessHer students are making so many gains in such a short time and it’s because she finds fun and creative ways to help them learn the skills they’ll need for everyday life. 

Shannon Darner
Shannon has stepped up to the plate for all of Transition without any complaints. She is a respected figure in Transition, and we are grateful to have such a helping hand around while simultaneously always making us laugh. She’s constantly opening new doors for our students through exploration at their jobsites. 

Bryan Ayer
Bryan’s creative perspective and organizational skills are apparent in every project he takes onHe is always positive, kind and willing to lift up a team member!!  Blooms is thriving and so are all who have the pleasure of being near this talented, sweet human being.

Ciaran Sontag
I can’t imagine NFSSE without CiaranHe fills in so many gaps and is always willing to do whatever is needed of him. Sontag is such a joy to be around, and his energy is infectious! He is a team player in every sense of the word. He goes above and beyond for his students and co-workers. 

Allison Mitchell
Allison is always so helpful. She will go out of her way for anyone who needs help. Allison has a bright smile that lights up a room. She is always willing to lend a hand to others. 

NFSSE PSO Volunteer of the Month: Dawn Dixon
Dawn goes above and beyond for NFSSE! Whether she is posting reminders for parents to order their lunch, shopping for coveted staff appreciation prizes for the up-and-coming Wheel of Thankfulness activity, rounding up actors and actresses during People Like Us rehearsals, or jumping in to help wherever she is needed, Dawn is a PSO POWERHOUSE! We LOVE and APPRECIATE you, Dawn!
