The fun doesn’t have to stop just because the school year does! Join NFSSE’s Summer Enrichment: Camp Illumination – sign up for select weeks or for the whole summer! Activities Enrichment Programs and Half Day Specialty Enrichment Programs are sure to keep your student entertained and engaged this summer!

Lower School (Elementary and Intermediate) grades 1-8

We will have lunches available for purchase all 5 days of camp. More details will be available and how to purchase as we get closer to camp starting.

All Aboard the Hogwarts Express – Culinary
Do you love the wizarding world of magic and dream of cooking something spellbinding? This enchanting culinary camp brings the magic of Harry Potter to life with themed treats inspired by Hogwarts and beyond. Campers will create delicious H.P.-inspired goodies while enjoying magical games, creativity, and plenty of wizarding fun. Grab your apron! These recipes are so good, even a Muggle couldn’t resist them!
Aqua Sports
This is what summer in Florida is all about cool water, exciting games, and nonstop fun under the sun. Campers will dive into water balloon challenges, splash-filled team games, and high-energy activities designed to keep everyone refreshed and smiling. With plenty of enthusiasm and laughter, every morning will feel like a celebration of summer. Get ready to make waves! This camp is guaranteed to be a splash hit.
Biking and Sports
Is your camper ready to learn how to ride a bike or strengthen the skills they already have? Does she or he LOVE sports? This exciting afternoon camp provides the perfect opportunity to build confidence, balance, coordination, and overall bike riding ability in a supportive and energetic environment. Campers will practice essential biking techniques while also enjoying a variety of fun, active sports mixed throughout the week to keep every day exciting and dynamic. Each day offers a fresh combination of cycling challenges and engaging sports activities that promote movement, teamwork, and friendly competition. This week provides FUN movement and excitement!
Broadway Bootcamp
In partnership with Greenlight Theatre Company: Are you creative, theatrical, or someone who loves little drama? Broadway Bootcamp is an exciting enrichment experience where campers dive into the world of musical theater. From high-energy dancing to acting out scenes, students will build confidence, stage presence, and performance skills. It’s a spotlight-ready week filled with expression, creativity, and everything about theater.
Ceramics & Art
Campers will begin the morning with ceramics. Ceramics is the art and science of creating products such as earthenware, porcelain, or brick from nonmetallic minerals like clay, which are shaped and then fired at high temperatures to harden and strengthen them.

Culinary Around the World
Get ready to take your taste buds on a global adventure without ever leaving the kitchen! This exciting culinary camp lets campers explore a different country’s delicious recipes each day, learning new skills while tasting flavors from around the world. From spices to sweets, every dish is an opportunity to create, discover, and have fun with friends. Why did the tomato turn red? Because it saw salad dressing all around the world!
Hole in FUN Golf
Have you ever wanted to step onto the green and learn how to swing like a pro? This exciting camp introduces campers to the game of golf through fun, high-energy skill building, creative challenges, and engaging modified golf games that make learning feel like play. Campers will develop focus, coordination, and confidence while celebrating every drive, chip, and putt along the way. Whether you score a hole-in-one or need a few extra swings, remember, it’s all par for the course, and the fun is always above par!
Horses, Pigs & Chickens, Oh MY!
There’s NO PLACE like our Delores Barr Weaver Therapeutic Equestrian Center, especially during Summer Enrichment, where campers explore the joys of animal care through engaging, hands-on activities. Participants will learn essential skills of caring for barn animals while building confidence and teamwork in a fun, supportive setting. Each day offers interactive games and experiences that deepen understanding and connection with our furry and feathered friends. The highlight of the week is riding horses!
Pokémon and Pizza
Get ready for a culinary extraordinaire where creativity and cooking collide. Campers will learn exciting kitchen skills while enjoying fun, high-energy games inspired by Pokémon throughout the week. With Pokémon as our theme, each day brings fresh, imaginative dishes that are as fun to make as they are to eat. It will be a deliciously adventurous experience packed with flavor, teamwork, and fun for everyone!

Campers will enjoy refreshing, high-energy fun, featuring classics like water balloon tosses, tag, and sponge relays, along with creative, messy, or competitive options!
AV Production Camp
Channel your tech-savvy side during AV Production Camp, where you will learn to use state-of-the-art equipment and skills to help bring the Lion King Jr. to the stage. Campers will learn to utilize lighting and sound equipment and will work as a team “behind the scenes” of this iconic show. This camp is hands-on, interactive, and designed to spark passion and teamwork. Space is limited to only 6 campers and technology experience is required. Campers must also be available the evening of July 24th and afternoon of July 25th to put the skills the learn to work during the shows!
Barkin’ Biscuits
Dive into one of our micro-enterprises to mix and roll warm, soft dough into delicious dog treats while bonding with friends and sharing plenty of laughs. Get ready for music, dance parties, and karaoke, because Barkin’ believes business should be upbeat, engaging, and full of spirit!

This camp provides an exciting, inclusive, and hands-on experience that blends artistic expression with innovative technology. Participants will rotate between two groups, spending equal time creating ceramics, and exploring the digital world through technology-focused projects. Throughout the week, students will develop new skills, enhance their creativity, and tackle challenges in a collaborative and inspiring environment. By the end of the week, participants will gain confidence, expand their abilities, and discover new ways to express themselves both artistically and digitally.
Culinary Excursions
Culinary Excursions is a dynamic and immersive week designed to broaden students understanding of the culinary arts through hands-on experiences and industry exploration. They will take part in a thoughtfully planned field trip that exposes them to diverse culinary environments and expand their professional perspective. Throughout the week, students will hear from distinguished chefs recognized for their excellence and innovation, gaining insight into their journeys, skills, and achievements.

Mini Microenterprise
This week offers an exciting opportunity to explore three of our signature micro- enterprises: Barkin’ Biscuits, Art with Soul, and Berry Good Blooms. Participants will rotate through each experience, creating delicious dog treats, designing meaningful artwork, and working hands-on with fresh, beautiful flowers. This diverse format allows students to expand their creativity while developing practical skills in a variety of artistic and entrepreneurial settings. Each micro-enterprise fosters collaboration, innovation, and self-expression in a supportive and energizing environment. Monday and Tuesday campers will make floral arrangements in Berry Good Blooms, on Wednesday they will create in Art With Soul and on Thursday and Friday they will create dog treats in Barkin’ Biscuits.
Pickleball
Pickleball, a fast-paced and exciting sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Participants will learn the fundamentals of serving, volleying, and strategy while improving coordination, agility, and teamwork. Each session is designed to be engaging. Whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience, everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy the game. A full week of Pickleball promises energetic matches and friendly competition.
Pickleball and Pizza
This week brings an exciting mix of action and creativity with Pickleball and pizza making. Spend part of your day honing your skills on the court, enjoying fast-paced games that challenge your agility and teamwork. Then, get imaginative in the kitchen as you craft your own mouthwatering pizzas, experimenting with flavors and toppings. This exciting week blends active play with culinary creativity and sport.
North Florida School of Special Education in partnership with Artistic Journeys International and Greenlight Theatre Company: Do you LOVE the stage? Do you have a flair for the dramatic and enjoy singing and dancing? Are you a team player who LOVES to learn about diverse cultures? Well do we have the PERFECT Summer Enrichment Camp experience for you! Get ready for an exciting, immersive theatrical experience where performers explore the Pride Lands through acting, singing, and dancing! This theater production camp emphasizes confidence-building, teamwork, and storytelling in a high-energy environment.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN: Acting skills, character development, emotional expression, stage presence, vocal training, singing technique, harmonies, projection, dance & movement, choreography, African dance styles, cultural exchange working with international artists, South African performance traditions, teamwork collaboration, ensemble work, supporting fellow performers, full theatrical production experience from rehearsal to performance!

We are currently seeking volunteers who are 14 years and older to assist us with our summer programs. Volunteer responsibilities may vary, so we ask that you be flexible. Volunteering options will be a weekly commitment with our Activity Enrichment camps or daily half-day sign-ups with Specialty Enrichment camps.
