Navigating Covid as we begin 2022

We are looking forward to seeing everyone back on campus Tuesday ready for the new semester. To that end, we have continued to monitor the effects of the Omicron variant on the Jacksonville community.
With the surge of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus, we will keep our pre-break mask requirements in place. All students must wear a mask entering the school, in common areas (such as hallways), departing from school and on vans. Teachers, staff and adults must wear a face covering to enter the school. Additionally, all staff are being asked to wear KN95 or surgical masks at all times around students.
We realize this is a change from our expected course of action, but as the COVID-19 virus mutates, we as a community must follow CDC guidance to protect our students, staff and families.
Please keep a watchful eye on your family for any Covid symptoms and keep your child home if they are sick and focus on getting well so they can return to class when feeling better. Notify the nurses at nurse@northfloridaschool.org if your student or a family member tests positive for COVID-19. We ask that you do not assume any cold-like symptom is not COVID, and keep your student home until you are able to test and/or they are symptom free. The nurses will help to determine quarantine length based on exposure and symptoms.
Should you have questions about the use of masks, please visit the CDC’s updated guidance at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/masking-science-sars-cov2.html.
The health and safety of our students and faculty and staff are of utmost importance to us. We remain committed to continuing to monitor the current situation and will send any updates should something change.
