Students Raise Money for Animals

On Wednesday, NFSSE’s Junior Civitans delivered a check for Jacksonville Humane Society.

The students raised over 12-hundred dollars through their Valentine’s Day Candy Grams. At one dollar each, that’s a lot of candy grams! “We love that we’re able to help out the Humane Society with this sale,” Junior Civitan President Matias O. said at the check presentation. “We worked really hard this year, but it’s also a whole lot of fun!”

In addition to the financial donation, the students delivered some great treats from our Barkin’ Biscuits pet bakery.

“We really appreciate all the good your students do for Jacksonville Humane Society,” explained Theresa Scordo, Chief Development Officer. “We have a great relationship with the North Florida School of Special Education and your support will definitely help!”

After the presentation, the students had an opportunity to tour the facility and interact with the animals they’re helping. They also learned about some important roles at the facility and possible future volunteer opportunities.
