Artist Completes Commissioned Mural

Art with Soul’s Emily Morrow was commissioned by SELFIE WRLD JAX to paint a mural for their entrance, and it’s been a hit with customers.
The mural is of the Jacksonville skyline and sitting in front of it is a beautiful jaguar along the riverbank. Emily started and completed the project in only a week! “We applied a chalk sketch to the wall, but when you’re working on such a large scale you just have to paint,” explains Art with Soul Teacher Kristen McCauley. “Emily was working with a lot of colors and details, and you can see by all the brush strokes that she has a really knack for capturing those details like the reflections of the bridge and ripples on the water.”

Emily Begins the Process of Painting Eyebrows

Emily’s inspiration is Disney animation and movies. “He is based on Jaxson the Jaguar, and he’s not ferocious.” says Emily who admits she’s not a big football fan. “I not only wanted to paint a jaguar but also an inspiring city like Jacksonville.”
One person who is not only inspired by the the painting but the artist is Emily’s mom. “This has really built her self-esteem and confidence,” says Susan Shrout. “”As a parent you want your child to find their path, and art is not only her passion, but it’s something she’s really good at, and I’m so appreciate of Art with Soul bringing that out of her.”
